Eye catching on this rug are several things. First its unusual small size for a double niche rug. A tree of life (Gapyrga), drawn in shiny colours, is centered in its camel main field. In direction borders the camel field ends with an imitation of interlocking flat weave pyramids, often seen in Baluch Sofrehs. The corner panels contend all same type of a red Ashik on brown ground.
Also on a brown ground a precisely executed Dogdan build the main border flanked on each side from a Sarchalka as minor border. Corner panels and knotted part of the rug is surrounded from a Gujak border made from alternating knots one in red and other one in blue.
Second unusual feature is its long Kilim ends made in different techniques of flat weave. After some stripes of flat weave there is a stripe showing the Itschan (S-motive) made in floating weft technique flanked on each side from a diagonal interlocking plane weave.
Rug is in very good condition, Shirasi has some repairs.
All colours from this rug are natural.
